Love and Acceptance Is at the Heart of It All

Quote about Love

Why do you what you do? What motivates you?

Many people will say that they are motivated by money, but when all is said and done, all we want is to be loved and accepted. That's the bottom line. Sure, we do things for monetary benefits like to pay rent, bills, and other necessities to survive, but when those needs are taken care of, we all look for love.

Macy wants to be a part of a family who loves her. Francine wants to adopt Macy because she has love to share. Nicole does what she does because she doesn't want to lose the love and attention of her family and friends. Derrick just wants to be accepted and respected by his father. Each of the characters in my latest novel just wants to feel loved and accepted.

However, just like many people in this world, some of the characters begin to look for love in all the wrong places. They do things to fill up the emptiness or something they feel is missing, not knowing that the love they seek is actually within them.

Sometimes we do things for loved ones that are questionable, but we love them so much and we want to see them happy. In every choice that we make, there are certainly consequences, which could be good or bad. You learn the lessons and you move on, or you keep making the same choices until you fall flat on your face.

As you read Chasing Danger you’ll go on a journey with each of the characters, learn their innermost feelings, and see why they do what they do. You’ll feel a little compassion for them even if what they are doing is completely wrong. You’ll see the struggles they have to endure and question whether or not you would do the same thing if you were in that same situation. You may have even had similar situations come up in your own life, which makes the story very relatable.
“Nicole hates me!” Macy cried. “I’ve tried to be her friend, but nothing works. I don’t think I belong here anymore. I know that she’ll never accept me as a member of this family.” (excerpt from Chasing Danger)
The harder you try to get people to love and accept you, the further you push them away. Start with loving yourself first, and everything else will fall into place.
